Ciao! We’ve spent the last week and a half in Italy, starting in Milan, and ending in the beautiful Venice. Venice is a place I have always wanted to visit, so doing so was an absolute pleasure. We walked about 8 miles around the area, weaving in and out of narrow pathways between buildings, crossing many bridges and even getting lost trying to find our way home! Here’s a peek at the bridges and canals, foods and drinks, buildings and more…
Bridges and Canals
Each bridge is unique and brings a different view.
Gondolas can be found at every bridge and waterway. For 80 Euro, you can get a 30 minute ride.
Candy cane lane or maybe a place to get a haircut?
The Grand Canal
Love the reflections on the water. I must share what you can’t see in the pictures, is the smell that reminded me of a dirty fish tank. Not everywhere, but some places you get a whiff.
Food, Drinks and Souvenirs
The meat selection though!
Fish for lunch?
A wide selection of pastas in different shapes and colors.
Gelato is everywhere, yum yum!
Lots of love in my cappucino
Hot wine to warm you up!
Stores abounded with Venetian masks, some beautiful, some creepy, but all very ornate.
Buildings and Things Around Town
After about 4 miles of walking, we reached the ocean. Here you can take water taxis out to see the islands.
The bell tower through the city streets.
A piece of the Basilica, Piazza San Marco
Buildings in St.Mark’s Square
Flags of Italy and the European Union
Golden dragons on the gondolas
They had an ice skating rink! Never heard about that before!
There was a serious graffiti problem, it looked like it all happened recently. There were teams all around cleaning it up.
Travel buddies and photographers Caleb and Trevor
Love is in the air<3
Me and the gondolas.
Live music fit the scene perfectly.
Slade loved chasing the pigeons as usual. Apparently, Venetian pigeons are a real problem for the area. He didn’t think so though.
That Italian Gondola Driver Life
And then the day came to an end..
Arrivederci! See you later Venice ❤
